Undoubtedly, no model of obesity will be entirely correct: the problem is too complex, with too many contributors and too much individual variation. But if there is a clash between models, it doesn’t mean they are both equally wrong. A rigorous debate is the way to separate the grain from the chaff (perhaps an awkward metaphor, in this case).
